WE MCR Walk/Hike: Sale Water Park

Here is everything you need to know about Sale Water Park.

“Sale Water Park, located to the south of the city, is an area of countryside and parkland containing a lake, woodland, meadows, the River Mersey, cafe, restaurant and water sports centre.

During the summer, the hub of Sale Water Park is the lake which is busy with everything from sail boats to jet skis. Visitors can also get away from the hustle and bustle of the Water Sports Centre by taking a walk through grassy meadows to the River Mersey or along to Jackson’s Boat Bridge.”

This is a nice walk near Manchester and you can get there by car, bus, bike, or train. It is also dog-friendly. We can walk around the lake and then along Mersey river. 🚶‍♀️🐕

We will meet for an initial introduction in front of The Boathouse Restaurant and go from there. We can break into smaller groups and/or proceed individually on different routes depending on the size of the group and what everyone wants to do. No pressure. No judgment. Just a few hours in nature. 🌸💕

Feel free to bring a snack and water with you in case you want to take a break at some point during the walk.

Photography/Videography

We do not record or screenshot our online events because we want women to feel safe and share information with us.

We take photos/videos of our in-person events which are held in public places and use them for marketing purpose and in order to encourage other women, who may be anxious and alone, to join us. However, we also respect everyone’s right to privacy and we want you to feel safe at our events. Therefore, if you would not like to be photographed, simply please inform our photographer or a member of our team. We will then place a heart over your face to protect your identity when using the photos/videos for marketing purposes. Or, you can simply remove yourself from the area when we are taking photos/videos.

Please note that, due to social media settings, we cannot remove your photos/videos after they are posted. Therefore, please remove yourself or inform a member of our team at the start of the event so that we can modify the photos before we post them.

Cost

The park doesn’t have an entrance fee.

This is a free event. However, we would be grateful for a donation. We are a non-profit entity and all funds go towards supporting women.
